Rizwana, MBA-II Sem.

As we know that Greater Noida is well known as CITY OF FRAGNANCE, and its fragrance comes from the students living in Greater Noida.

There are about 80 colleges in Greater Noida and without describing the students’ life in Greater Noida you cannot describe the spirit of the city, because students are the core of life in Greater Noida .

Greater Noida is full of natural beauty and every student living here became stationary by its beauty when he or she encounter with it. All students enjoy their life in their own way. There are many colleges in the city which run different courses like B.Tech, MBA, MCA, BBA, BCA. etc. All students go to college at morning, and when they get free time they usually go to canteen and sit there with friends. There are few economic but good restaurants where students may enjoy.

Jagat farm, an important place where almost every student accumulate and enjoy their free time at “Yellow Chilies’, “Nescafe’, CCD and Dominoes, is situated in Alpha-I. We cannot forget our “Ansal Plaza  where students with their friends spend their leisure time at McDonalds & 7Days and may watch movies at  “Big cinema’.

Student is the life line of Greater Noida. It’s a developing area and any student who comes here never want to go back and there is only reason behind it that student’s life in Greater Noida is wonderland for all of us. And not only current students, but those who have left it, they too never forget this place and always want to come back – again and again.

Difference Between Focusing on Problem and Focusing on Solution

Pramod Kumar, MBA-II Sem.

Case:1

When NASA began the launch of astronauts into space, they found out that the pens wouldn’t work at zero gravity (ink won’t flow down to the writing surface). To solve this problem, it took them one decade and $ 12 million. They developed a pen that worked at zero gravity, upside down, underwater, in practically any surface including crystal and in a temperature range from below freezing to over 300 degrees C.

And what did the Russians do..? They used a pencil.

Case:2

One of the  most memorable case studies  on Japanese  management was the case of the empty soapbox, which happened in one of Japan’s biggest  cosmetics  companies. The company  received  a complaint that a consumer had bought  a soap box that was empty. Immediately the authorities isolated the problem to the assembly line, which transported all the packaged boxes of soap to delivery department. For some reason, one soap box went through the assembly line empty. Management asked its engineers to solve the problem. The engineers   work hard to devise an x-ray machine with high resolution monitors manned by two people to watch all the soap boxes that passed through line to make sure they where not  empty. No doubt, they worked hard and they worked fast but they spend whoopee amount to do so.

But when a rank-and –file employee in a small company was posed with the same, he did not get into complication of x-ray, etc …but instead came out with another solution. He bought two strong industrial electric fan and pointed it at the assembly line. He switched the fan  on, and as each soap box   pass the fan it simply blew the empty boxes out of the line.

Moral: 1- Always look for simple solutions ….

2- Devise the simplest possible solution that solves the problems ….
